Kurt lives and trains in  Connecticut; the Nutmeg state. Originally from upstate New York, Kurt began life as a competitive swimmer who laughed at running. He then ventured away from exercise in general while earning a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and a Masters in Biomedical Science. His re-entrance into athletics by way of triathlon in 2010 made him face his hatred of running and in short order, redirected his love of science towards his passion for athletics. He began coaching in 2011. Since then, Kurt has coached runners and triathletes to many levels of race; the first 5k to multiple Goofy Challenges, a sprint triathlon to an Ironman PR.


With a voracious appetite for education and in-depth experience, Kurt has been fortunate enough to have experience with a number of big names in the sport. Working at multiple training/coaching camps, Kurt has worked with Siri Lindley, Bobby McGee, Eney Jones, Erin Carson, Bob Seebohar, Ivan O’Gorman, Shane Eversfield, Mirinda Carfrae, Rebekah Keat, Charlotte Saunders, Craig Alexander, the Sansego Coaching Group, and a number of other incredibly talented coaches and athletes.


As an athlete, Kurt is a member of Team Sirius out of Boulder, Colorado. He has raced the 5k to a 50 miler as well as the sprint triathlon to multiple Ironmans. His current focus is the 70.3 distance with the goal of earning an elite license. For the love of the sport, Kurt is also the president of his local triathlon club, HEAT (Hartford Extended Area Triathletes) with whom he runs two seasonal swim clinics with Olympic swimmer Jeff Stuart.


As a coach, Kurt is a USAT Level 1 triathlon coach, an RRCA running coach, and a NASM personal trainer. And he coaches for one reason, to help others redefine their limits. As a swimmer who used to think he could never run, Kurt has learned that his own limits are much further than he expected. They are the same for you! You just have to want to test them. A coach is simply a guide who can help you maneuver and traverse that terrain.


Athletes of Kurt can expect not only a 100% individualized weekly training plan, recurring testing, and personal check-ins, but a coach to help them believe in what they are capable of and discover their love of a personal challenge.
